Solo Projects

I have now completed recording a contemporary Christian album called “Deeper With You.” Visit the shop on this site for a hard copy CD. Alternatively you can download the album on iTunes here:https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/deeper-with-you/id838308786  Also the backing tracks for “Deeper With You” are available as well as sheet music files. These will be available as a resource to download from the website www.paulwhitfieldmusic.com. The backing tracks come with or without backing vocals.

The tracks for this album have been written over a number of years. “I Will Not Run, I Will Not Hide” is a personal testimony I wrote after completing an Alpha Course in 2002. “In Your Presence” evolved & grew over a period of around 12 months. It was initially just a verse, then another verse came, and then finally the ending. It’s been sung in my home church in various stages of completion!

I was stuck for around 3 years with just the chorus of “Supernatural Majesty” until one day I took it out of the drawer it had been placed in and made a conscious effort to write some verses and a guitar solo! Many of the tracks on this album are congregational songs.

Tracks such as “Deeper With You”, “King Of My Heart” and “Lord Of All My Life” have all been well received in church meetings during corporate worship. I try not to stick to just one musical style so there is a real variety on here.

The album will also feature an upbeat duet with Philippa Hanna called “There’ll Be Joy.” A song about the fact that whatever we are going through won’t be forever. It will only be for a season. Joy will come in the morning.

I love to write instrumental pieces too. I love the emotion and feelings that can be brought out through music and the picture it can paint.

A piece like “Vast” tries to capture a sense of the awesomeness of God, the almighty creator of the entire universe.

“Broken Heart” is a piano piece that is touching so many people. And as you go through this album please feel free to get in touch! I would love to hear your feedback.

Ephesians 5:19 – “Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord.”

Psalm 108:1 – “My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart.”
